Who is a Director?

The Director is a person who controls and direct an Organization or a Project.  Direction is an art of excellence, administration, control over the affairs, overall management, implementing and Organizing a Project.  

Who is a Movie Director?

Movie Director is the person who controls and direct all the affairs of a movie.  He has the ultimate control over all other activities and he is responsible for the failure and success of the movies.  He wins when a movie becomes successful in the box office and makes huge collections.  He fails when a movie becomes unsuccessful and does not make the required collections in the form of earnings. Directors of the movies always strikes when they pitch to success but at the same time when the movies fails then they will be criticized for their work.  

What are the Positive and Negative of Movies ?

A movie fails when the overall coordination of storytelling in the background fails.  Thus the main reason for failure is not the story itself but the sequence of screen play and the acting prowess of the actors, time and release modalities and any other essential areas like editing, photography etc. may also result in such failures.  When a Director tries to say some peculiar things through his movie but he fails to explain the contents with the required expressions, the movie becomes a failure.  This may be due to the non-performance by an actor or any other related activities like editing and photography. Coordination of each and every activity in a movie should be done with utmost care to avoid failure.  As is said by too many scholars that "Sucess is the result of too many failures".  Likewise "Success has too many fathers and the failure has none".

What are the qualities needed for a good Direction?

Personality Traits: 

Leadership :

A person with devotion and honesty towards work will proves to be successful. His personality should be vibrant and he should think on many ways and use the available resources with different approaches. Director Satyajit Ray has done some brilliant work during his movie life and has been a brilliant Director who made some excellent classic movies with his wise decisions and hard efforts, he put in. Born in Calcutta(current Kolkata) to rhyme author Sukumar Ray, Satyajit Ray is well-known for his excellent works including The Apu Trilogy (1955–1959), The Music Room (1958), The Big City (1963) and Charulata (1964) and the Goopy - Bagha trilogy.  Lastly he should behave himself as a Director in all respect, give respect to others and take respect and result from others.

Approach :

The approach of Director should be very much on the positive side and he should believe in truthfulness pass on clear cut instructions to the crew members, bring newer ideas for story telling.  The style of story telling always helps in mitigating the defects of a movie because when a person adopts old methods and stereotype characters in a movie, the movie may fail to generate a good gathering.  He should always keep a good behavioral approach towards his team members and also towards the story which he is going to express through the medium of cinema.

Use of Time :

A movie depends on time spend and release time, both are important, there is a proverb or saying that "Strike while the Iron is hot", "Rom was not built in a day".  So time is very important factor whatever it may be movie releasing time or making time will greatly influence in making a successful movie.

Essence:

Communication today has evolved into major changes still the development and research work is going on in this direction, the failure of the movie may be the end result of lack of proper communication else the story of the movie could not achieve the minds of people. People's eyebrows will search for the victim ultimately they will find the fault on the part of the Director of the movie. There is a practice to put blame on the Director when a film could not achieve financial success. On one side, if there is any story with an abundant amount of stunts naturally will prove to be a success story. At the same time, some people mainly watch out for the basic feature of the story, if the story is good and the director has done his part well then it would be a success. 

When talking about family entertainer movies Malayalam movie world has a perfect name to add, he directed many films having different stories having some special characteristics and mannerisms. Some stories having a family background and adding some comedy and stunt will definitely pick the pitch. This type of style is normal for a movie but Sathyan Anthikkad's movies are very special when talking about family entertainers. He has made marvelous movies during his initial stage with Mohanlal and Balachandra Menon these movies brought some ecstatic changes in the routine. He always tried to touch the minds of people while doing family entertainers. There he could achieve the spot of a good Director. Kamal and Viji Thampi also tried on the same line of storytelling and they also could achieve success. The strategy adopted by these Directors brought some remarkable change in the style of movie-making.
